A centralized commencement ceremony for major projects of Changsha City was held on February 6, with the theme of "Highlighting the blueprint outlined in the 'Three Hubs and Four New Missions' Strategy and boosting Changsha's high-quality development". A total of 235 major projects started construction, with an estimated total investment of 87.89 billion CNY.
Major projects serve as a powerful engine for high-quality economic and social development. In 2025, Changsha plans to roll out 659 key construction projects, with an estimated annual investment of 247.5 billion CNY.
Major projects were highlighted. Among the 235 newly-started projects, there are 7 projects each with a total investment of more than 2 billion CNY and 18 projects each worth over 1 billion CNY. In particular, the Zoomlion Digital Intelligent Park Project and HKC's Direct View Module and Complete System Project have a total investment of more than 5 billion CNY. The implementation of these projects that strengthen the foundation, shore up weak links, and benefit long-term development will inject strong impetus into the city's high-quality economic development.
Industrial projects were highlighted. A total of 170 industrial development projects valued at 73.38 billion CNY began construction that day, accounting for 72% of the total number of projects and 83% of the estimated total investment, respectively. The projects involve construction machinery, electronic information, new materials, biomedicine and other pillar industries and emerging industries. They will provide essential support for cultivating and developing new quality productive forces.
People's livelihood improvement projects were highlighted. Construction commenced on 30 new infrastructure projects and 35 social livelihood improvement and ecological environmental protection projects, involving transportation network, underground pipe network, schools, hospitals, cultural tourism, sports, and electricity facilities. This will further improve urban spatial functions and increase the supply of quality public services.
The centralized commencement ceremony took place at the site of Zoomlion Digital Intelligent Park Project in Hunan Xiangjiang New Area. Covering an area of about 1,500 mu (or 100 hectares), the project has a planned total investment of 5.3 billion CNY and will be mainly engaged in the production of crawler cranes and emergency equipment. Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of about 27 billion CNY.
