The Changsha Municipal Sports Bureau announced on February 13 that the 2025 Xiangjiang Half Marathon will kick off at 7:30 on April 20 (Sunday). This year's marathon features two events: half marathon and a fun run, with 15,000 runners to anticipate. Registration for the race will begin soon. Participants can follow the WeChat public account "Xiangjiang Marathon [湘江马拉松赛]" to stay updated with relevant information.
Since its inception in 2016, the Xiangjiang Marathon has been successfully held for nine consecutive years. Honored as a sports industry demonstration project of Hunan Province, the competition has made positive contributions to the region's national fitness and sports industry and the integrated sports development of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan. This year marks the 10th Xiangjiang Marathon, with a new name of "Xiangjiang Half Marathon".
The 2025 Xiangjiang Half Marathon was certified as a Class A2 event by the Chinese Athletics Association (CAA) on February 13. According to the Chinese Athletics Association Road Running Events Management Measures, China's road running events fall into three grades: A (A1, A2), B and C. The organization of Class A2 events meets the CAA certification standards, and the results of the events can be uploaded to the CAA road running results bank.
