Hunan Museum of Geology

The Hunan Museum of Geology, founded in 1927, is one of the earliest provincial geological museums in China, the largest natural science museum in Hunan, and the earliest museum featuring collections and displays of mineral crystals. Offering popular information on natural resources and popular science education, the museum also collects and exhibits natural specimens, protects and conducts research on paleontological fossils, and engages in international cooperation and exchange.
