Zhangjiajie Steps up Efforts to Build Global Tourism Brand


In recent years, Zhangjiajie has been enhancing its international tourism brand by improving inbound travel conveniences such as entry procedures, transportation, and multilingual services. The city is also diversifying tourism product offerings and intensifying global promotional efforts.

Currently, over 2,000 key merchants in Zhangjiajie have upgraded their POS terminals to support major international credit cards. Additionally, tourists from certain countries and regions can directly use overseas payment apps.

Data showed that in 2024, 95% of entry-exit trips at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport was made by foreign visitors, ranking first among airports across the country. Zhangjiajie received over 1.83 million inbound tourists throughout the year, marking a 166.3% year-on-year increase.

Zhangjiajie's culture and tourism authority noted that in 2025, the city will continue to strengthen its global tourism brand through various measures, including streamlining entry processes, enhancing transportation and multilingual support, expanding tourism products, and promoting international marketing campaigns.

As of March 24 this year, Zhangjiajie's four major scenic areas have recorded over 310,000 tourists, representing a more than 40% increase compared to the same period last year.
