In Changsha, there is a traditional delicacy called Zimei Tuanzi, or glutinous rice balls stuffed with pork, osmanthus-flavored honey, and other ingredients. It was first made and sold by two sisters named Jiang Xiuying and Jiang Xiumei at the beginning of the last century. Now it is known as one of the eight traditional snacks of the Fire God Palace Restaurant.
The process for making sweet and glutinous Zimei Tuanzi is as follows:
1. Kneading the dough
2. Making the savory filling with streaky pork
3. Adding shiitake mushrooms to the savory filling
4. Making the sweet filling with white sugar, sesame, and osmanthus-flavored honey
5. Adding the filling
6. Wrapping
7. Finished products
