Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with Shindo Kousei, chairman of the Japan-China Economic Association, and his entourage on February 20, 2025.
Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and briefed them on the status of Hunan Province. He noted that the Japan-China Economic Association has been committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation and friendly people-to-people exchanges between Japan and China, as well as between Japan and Hunan, since its establishment. It has made positive contributions to fueling a higher level and closer exchange and collaboration between the two sides. We looked forward to taking this visit as an opportunity to advance friendly exchanges with Japan as always, in accordance with the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Japan that the two countries are cooperative partners and are not threats to each other. Hunan will continue to carry forward friendly exchanges with Japan, and propel both sides to further deepen pragmatic cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, culture, education, science and technology, ecological and environmental protection, youth exchanges, and agriculture, to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and benefit both Hunan and Japanese people.
Shindo Kousei thanked Hunan for its warm reception. He remarked that Hunan features aboundant natural resources, a sound industrial development, and vibrant cities. The Japan-China Economic Association will further strengthen cooperation and exchange with Hunan based on the good cooperation foundation, to make greater contributions to the development of Japan-China relations, he added.
